Gus Blacno Owner Complete Dryer Vent Services, LLC

Meet Gus – Owner & Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician

Hi, I’m Gus Blanco, owner and lead technician of Complete Dryer Vent Services. I worked for almost 10 years in industries where safety and precision were non-negotiable (aviation / pharmaceutical). Afterwards I started my career with Maytag/Whirlpool factory service as an appliance technician for 17 years. In 2016 I placed second out of 4,000 service technicians in the nation. I remained in the top one percent until 2019.
That’s when I made it my mission to specialize in just one thing: dryer vent systems. Not HVAC. Not appliance repair. Not a carpet cleaner. Not a handyman. Not trying to get in your home and sell you other services!
Just dryer vents. And everything that can go wrong with them.
So I became CSIA-certified, got licensed and insured in the State of Florida, and launched a business dedicated to doing the job right—with airflow readings, borescope inspections, detailed reporting, and real customer education.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire a CSIA-certified dryer vent technician?

Hiring a CSIA-certified technician ensures your service meets rigorous national fire safety standards. Unlike general handymen, certified experts at Complete Dryer Vent Services utilize specialized airflow dynamics and borescopes to identify hidden hazards, ensuring your exhaust system is compliant with Florida building codes and NFPA safety regulations.

How do I know if my dryer vent needs professional cleaning?

Common warning signs include clothes taking multiple cycles to dry, a burning smell during operation, or excessive heat in the laundry room. If you notice lint accumulating outside the vent or a “Check Vent” light, professional cleaning is required to restore airflow and prevent mechanical failure.

Where can I find certified dryer vent cleaning in The Villages, FL?

Complete Dryer Vent Services provides specialized cleaning and inspections throughout The Villages, Ocala, and Leesburg. As local specialists, they focus exclusively on dryer exhaust systems, offering documented airflow readings and before-and-after photos for residents in Marion, Lake, Sumter, and Citrus Counties.

Can I clean my own dryer vent with a DIY kit?

While DIY kits exist, they often fail to reach the entire vent length and can accidentally detach flexible ductwork behind walls. Professional technicians use high-powered rotary systems and borescopes to ensure 100% clearance and verify the structural integrity of the entire ventilation path.

How often should Florida homeowners have their dryer vents inspected?

Safety experts recommend a professional inspection and cleaning at least once every 12 months. Households with large families, pets, or long vent runs (such as those exiting through the roof) may require bi-annual service to maintain safety and prevent lint-related fires in Florida’s humid climate.

Is a "full service" dryer cleaning different from a standard vent sweep?

A standard sweep only clears the pipe, but a Full Service Cleaning includes disassembling the dryer cabinet to remove flammable lint from the internal motor and heating element. Complete Dryer Vent Services performs this deep cleaning to eliminate fire risks that standard vent brushing cannot reach.
